Are There Too Many Deer?

A lot of important changes have been made in wild deer herd management over the last decade or two that affect hunters, farmers, foresters and automobile drivers. Some people think that there are still too many deer and some think there are too few. Ben Rebuck is great at explaining the Pa. Game Commission’s strategies and future plans.

Maureen Kane is responsible for monitoring deer farms and is the first line representative regarding Chronic Wasting Disease. She will give us the latest information on where CWD is happening and the containment strategies that may impact you.

 Jim Hayes, M.D. is a local farm owner who will share his knowledge of CWD and prion diseases and answer the important question of, “Hey, Doc, how worried should I be about eating the venison I harvest?”
