Two pristine trout streams run through the park, Silver Creek along the northern border of the park and Fall Brook, which enters from the southeast and runs northwest. They traverse the park for nearly two miles and provide ample fishing opportunities for both novice and experienced anglers. A favorite area is where Fall Brook flows into Silver Creek near the campgrounds.

Trout season begins at 8 a.m. on the first Saturday in April. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks both streams with trout several times each spring, beginning a week or two before the season opens. All PA Fish and Boat Commission laws and regulations apply.

The weekend prior to adult opening day is Mentored Youth Day.  Bring your little anglers out to build their skills.

Although Salt Springs is a popular place on the opening day of trout season, the fishing crowd soon moves on and the streams are peaceful once again.
